Our Story

Clef Music began with a simple yet powerful idea: music has the ability to transform lives of all ages. Frustrated by rigid, one-size-fits-all group classes, our founders created a teaching collective dedicated to personalized, one-on-one instruction—and discovered a deeper calling as they brought music into the lives of seniors at local aged-care homes. What started as private lessons for children soon grew into a mission to spark joy across generations.

Our Mission & Vision

Mission: To nurture every individual’s unique musical voice through expert, one-on-one lessons—whether they’re learning their first song or singing through cherished memories.

Vision: A community where each student, child or elder, gains confidence, creativity, and connection through the universal language of music.

What Sets Us Apart

  • Fully Personalized Lessons: Every session is meticulously tailored to each student’s goals, interests, and pace—no two curricula are alike.
  • Flexible, Mobile Teaching: From your home to local community centers and aged-care residences, our instructors come to you, fitting lessons into your schedule and comfort zone.
  • Word-of-Mouth Excellence: Our full-time teachers, each with 10+ years of experience, join through glowing referrals from families and care-home directors alike.
  • Zero Turnover, Deep Relationships: Consistency matters—students stay with the same mentor for years, building trust and flourishing together.

Our Teaching Philosophy

  1. Confidence Through Compassion: We celebrate every small victory—whether it’s a beginner’s first chord or a senior’s heartfelt sing-along.
  2. Interest-Led Repertoire: Students choose songs they love—from pop and Disney favorites to timeless classics—making practice a joy, not a chore.
  3. Life-Enhancing Music: Beyond exams and recitals, we believe music enriches wellbeing. Our aged-care programs emphasize memory, community, and the simple pleasure of song.

Impact Across Generations

  • Children’s Achievements: With a 99% pass rate on ABRSM, Trinity, and local exams, our young learners gain both skill and self-assurance.
  • Senior Engagement: Weekly sessions in aged-care homes bring residents together, evoking memories and boosting mood through familiar melodies and interactive activities.
  • Biannual Showcases: Low-pressure recitals for families and care communities celebrate progress, courage, and the joy of sharing music.

Ms. Su is a very dedicated piano teacher. She does her best to teach and patiently explains music notes and theory to the children. My son really likes and enjoys the process of learning piano.

Wei Qi, mother of student Ze Hao

Ms. Yap has taught my son piano for over 10 years, always tailoring her lessons to his unique strengths and needs. Her dedication and creativity have helped him grow musically and even join the ELO band.

Yu Li, mother of Wang Youjin

I chose the keyboard because I want to fulfill my childhood dream. I realized that learning the piano at my age (60+) not only fills my time with a meaningful activity but also stimulates my brain.

Kwee Eng, Rockitevergreen Student

I enjoy learning the keyboard in a classroom setting. Besides practicing on my own at home—which makes my “me time” truly therapeutic—I always find it a happy moment whenever our class meets biweekly.

Jenny, Rockitevergreen Student

Our team enjoyed the music activities involving singing, body percussion, and instruments—especially the part where we all played together.
